{"id":174,"date":"2020-05-22T21:50:07","date_gmt":"2020-05-22T20:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/calm-hypnotherapy.co.uk\/?post_type=product&#038;p=174"},"modified":"2023-11-20T21:39:59","modified_gmt":"2023-11-20T21:39:59","slug":"pain-management","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/calm-hypnotherapy.co.uk\/index.php\/product\/pain-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Pain Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is difficult to think of anything more debilitating than chronic pain.\u00a0 \u00a0The constant piercing, seething, stabbing, burning sensation deep in the body seems unrelenting.\u00a0 Such is the agony of someone in chronic pain.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Pain is a warning that something is not right<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Pain can be a warning sign of damaged tissue or that something is wrong in the body.\u00a0 It is important for us to feel pain sometimes.\u00a0 In this context pain may be seen as existing in the boundary between body and mind.\u00a0\u00a0 The first step in\u00a0pain management\u00a0is scheduling an appointment with your doctor to determine the cause of your pain.\u00a0 \u00a0There are many different pain management options available, including medication, exercising, and talking therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.\u00a0 \u00a0You can find the right treatment combination to get the relief you need.<\/p>\n<p>However some pain persists beyond normal healing time or can be linked to a chronic disease.\u00a0 This pain may not be related to a physical problem that can be helped by medication or other solutions.\u00a0\u00a0 Hypnotherapy may provide some relief in these cases.\u00a0 This may be true for people for whom medication does not work or those seeking an alternative to medication.<\/p>\n<p>Hypnotherapy cannot &#8220;cure &#8221; your physical ailment, but it has been shown to assist in managing the level of pain, especially with long term conditions.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Hypnotherapy might be able to help<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>There are a number of different therapeutic approaches that have been successful for people using hypnotherapy.\u00a0 In particular, one technique can help to \u201cturn down the volume\u201d on the pain.\u00a0 Another approach is to help the \u201cpart\u201d of the person\u2019s subconscious mind that is controlling the pain to find an alternative way for the person to gain the same benefit without the pain. \u00a0\u00a0Guided mediations under hypnosis can also provide relief for some people.\u00a0 This can include visualisations of having a \u201cglove of ice\u201d on the affected area to soothe the pain.\u00a0 Other ideas include receiving a virtual massage or resting in a warm bath.<\/p>\n<p>Self-hypnosis can also be taught so that the person can learn to manage their own pain as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>You can start by listening to my free self-healing audio recording which may help.\u00a0 It begins with a guided visualisation to help you relax.\u00a0 \u00a0Your subconscious mind is then asked to help you identify what is happening in your body and to try to heal it.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-174-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/calm-hypnotherapy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Self-healing-audio-forest-08-05-21-final.m4a?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/calm-hypnotherapy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Self-healing-audio-forest-08-05-21-final.m4a\">https:\/\/calm-hypnotherapy.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Self-healing-audio-forest-08-05-21-final.m4a<\/a><\/audio>\n<h6><strong>Stress and Anxiety<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Pain levels can be increased by negative thoughts, stress and anxiety.\u00a0 Hypnosis for pain management aims to manage any fear and anxiety you may have relating to your pain.\u00a0 \u00a0It also helps to reduce stress and relax the nervous system to help it become less reactive to pain.\u00a0 \u00a0People can learn how to challenge negative thoughts and reduce stress and anxiety using relaxation and breathing.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>What kinds of pain can hypnotherapy help with?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Hypnotherapy has been found to help some people manage their pain in relation to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arthritis and Rheumatism<\/li>\n<li>Ataxia<\/li>\n<li>Autoimmune conditions, such as\u00a0Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome<\/li>\n<li>Irritable bowel syndrome<\/li>\n<li>Crohn&#8217;s Disease and Colitis<\/li>\n<li>Celiac<\/li>\n<li>Migraines and headaches<\/li>\n<li>Tinnitus<\/li>\n<li>Vertigo<\/li>\n<li>Endometriosis<\/li>\n<li>Menstrual pain<\/li>\n<li>Menopause and Andropause (Male Menopause)<\/li>\n<li>Muscular pain<\/li>\n<li>Back pain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1x 90 minutes Session<\/p>\n<p>Subsequent sessions &#8211;
