You may need to nourish your inner child

You can’t do a lot about what happened yesterday, or the day before, month before, year before, or even back when you were a child.  However, it might still be impacting on your life in a negative way. If you keep thinking and worrying about it, you lose the joys that are waiting for you today.

How can hypnotherapy help?

Why not think about how you can move on?  Hypnotherapy can offer support to put your past into perspective and allow you to advance into a more positive mind space.

Inside each of us there is an inner child.  Our inner child lives in our subconscious mind and influences how we make choices, respond to challenges, and live our lives.  That child is intelligent, playful, curious, spontaneous, and expressive. It is also emotionally sensitive, and very vulnerable in early life.

Positive messages of encouragement and praise nourish the inner child and help it form healthy self-esteem and a positive self-image. These messages are expressed in words, from parents and carers, family friends, teachers, coaches, etc. They also are conveyed in body language: smiles, hugs, and pats on the back.  People who grow up with these messages are more likely to shine and succeed in their lives. They are more likely to be happy and have loving and mutual relationships and can pass on those messages to their children.

In contrast, negative messages from those people that harshly criticise and berate are wounding. The words used are often loud or even yelled and can shatter a child’s world. Sometimes the tone of voice is sarcastic or derisive, and the child can even be blamed for what is going wrong in their parents’ life.  We have tried to ignore that child to avoid the pain, but s/he never goes away. Sometimes the pain comes out in self-harm, low self-esteem and addictions such as alcohol, drugs or gambling. In some cases it has led to poor relationships and difficulties in parenting their own children.

Working on your inner child might very well be the decision that changes your life

Hypnotherapy to help heal your Inner Child can use a variety of tools and techniques to access, communicate with, calm, and heal your inner child. Guided meditations can create positive changes including greater self-worth and self-acceptance. It can help you to overcome self-sabotaging behaviour that your inner child learned to cope with your earlier life experiences.
